B12 Injections

B12 Injections

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is an important water-soluble vitamin. It is often administered by injection so that it can be rapidly absorbed and utilized by the body. Injections go into the muscular layer and are quick and relatively painless.

B-12 is a water-soluble vitamin that can slowly decline in levels over time. B12 injections are commonly helpful for patients who:

  • Eat a vegetarian (or primarily vegetarian) diet
  • Have digestive concerns
  • Have high levels of stress
  • Are above the age of 65
  • Have low energy
  • Have been diagnosed with low or sub-optimal B12 levels by their MD or Naturopathic Doctor
Adequate absorption of B12 depends upon five factors:

  • Adequate dietary intake
  • Acid-pepsin in the stomach
  • Pancreatic proteases
  • Gastric secretion of a functional intrinsic factor
  • An ileum with functioning B12 Intrinsic factor receptors
B-12 levels can be tested using a simple blood test with your MD or Naturopathic Doctor. Please be advised that even if blood B-12 levels fall within the “normal blood reference range” they may still be considered sub-optimal. Naturopathic Doctors offer interpretation of any lab test results.

At The Natural Way we use the highest grade of B12 for our injectables (Methylcobalamin) and we always add folic acid to our injections to prevent problems with folic acid deficiency. Our injectables are all compounded for us to be 100% preservative free.

Some of the benefits that you may experience with B12 injections include but are not limited to: improved energy, improved stress response, and improved mood.

B-12 support has been used in the treatment of: neurological conditions, asthma, depression, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), diabetic neuropathy, low sperm count and many other conditions.

Please speak with one of our Naturopathic Doctors if you would like more information. If you have never seen a Naturopathic Doctor at our clinic and would like a free consultation, please call: 519-772-2116.
